The Compac
Space Fan System is a revolutionary heating, ventilating and air
conditioning system that stands out among air handling systems
in the industry. Typical applications include hospitals, pharmaceutical
facilities, clean rooms, arenas and many other installations where
a large quantity of air movement is required.
What makes the Compac Space Fan System distinctive is its integration
of noise absorption and flow control within the inlet and outlet
components of the assembly.
UNPARALLELED
FEATURES
Engineered and manufactured by M&I Air Systems Engineering,
a division of M&I Heat Transfer Products Ltd., the benefits
of the system include:
SPACE SAVING
Utilizes up to 60 percent less space in mechanical rooms by using
axial fans with a directly coupled inlet flow concentrator/silencer
and an outlet regain attenuator. Transition plenums are not needed.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
A computer designed outlet attenuator achieves up to 80 percent
static regain of the axial fan's annular velocity pressure, thereby
reducing energy consumption by up to 50 percent.
QUIETNESS
Optimum acoustic and aerodynamic performance is achieved, with
noise levels as low or lower than NC-38 in the space adjacent
to the fan room.
LOW VIBRATION
The axial fan generates as low as 0.02 mil peak displacement due
to aerodynamic inlet and outlet conditions. The fan is mounted
on four vibration isolators (98 percent efficient) to minimize
vibration transmission to the building floor. As a result, the
system is suitable for Class 1 level clean rooms.
INTEGRATED SYSTEM
The components are effectively integrated, offering single source
responsibility for optimum system performance.
EASE OF MAINTENANCE
System components are easily accessible. Fans are mounted on a
rollout assembly and can be easily removed by one person, reducing
downtime during servicing.
LOWER COOLING LOAD
Use of a smaller motor in the airstream, due to energy efficient
design, reduces the cooling load.
EFFICIENT VOLUME CONTROL
Variable pitch-in-motion vane axial fans offer one of the most
efficient methods of volume control. They are more efficient than
inlet guide vanes and less costly than variable speed drives.
RELIABILITY
The fans operate under improved airflow conditions, which can
enhance long-term, reliable operation. For critical applications,
a standby fan can be provided. It comes mounted on a rollout assembly
and can be put into service within minutes.
