COMPAC SPACE VANE AXIAL FAN SYSTEMS

Outlet Regain Attenuator

The outlet regain attenuator is also computer designed to optimize aerodynamics and acoustics. The velocity of the air leaving the fan is gradually reduced to the duct velocity using multiple splitters and/or turning vanes, thus maximizing the static regain of the axial fan's annular velocity energy.

The outlet regain attenuator can be supplied in various configurations:
• In-line (axial) flow type with one rectangular outlet.
• Radial type with one, two, or four-sided rectangular outlet(s).
• Multiple level discharges with one or two take-offs at each level.
Suitable for installation within three feet of the final filters.

Outlet Regain Attenuator

End view of an inline flow type, single discharge outlet regain attenuator with 85,000 cfm capacity. The attenuator dimensions are 6'high x 6'Iong x 12'wide.

Construction: Similar to the inlet flow concentrator silencer.

Compac Space Fan System

Details of a 25,000 cfm capacity Compac Space Fan System with a radial type, one-sided (90° turn) rectangular outlet. The outlet regain attenuator is suspended from the ceiling. Alternatively, it can be supported on the inlet flow concentrator silencer.

Optional: Packless silencers for those applications where fibreglass filling is not desirable and cleaning is required; for example, biomedical systems and high temperature applications. Packless silencers use perforated inside skin of 304 stainless steel construction with single or multi-layered screens of 304 stainless steel, located immidiately behind it. M&I's packless silencers have been tested to have acoustical performance similar to those of fibreglass filled silencers.

Figure 6A outlines the measured transmission loss of various silencers.
